| Comments: | Proclamation by Officiating C-in-C, Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force dated 14th August 1918 re revised postage rates in Iraq from 1st September 1918, and Postal Notice dated 28th August 1918 by E. Clerici, Deputy Director, Postal Services (Civil), Iraq.<br /> <br /> The Postal Notice shows that the postage rates to Koweit are the same as those to India, and the rates between Koweit and India are Indian inland rates (The Postal History of Iraq by Patrick C. Pearson and Edward B. Proud – presumably the Proclamation and Postal Notice were published in the local newspapers at the time).<br /> |
