| Comments: | Jewan was derived from "J-1" which was the original designation of a construction camp - later an Army barracks - located some distance west of Kuwait Town. Initially, mail from Jewan Post Office was cancelled with the single circle "KUWAIT" date-stamp but from 27 September 1954 the post office used its own date-stamps. The post office was a sub-post office Kuwait Post Office only handled registered mail and parcels. |
