BUSHIRE – Under British Occupation – 1st Issue
In conjunction with the British occupation of Bushire a set of 14 Persian stamps were overprinted with “BUSHIRE – Under British Occupation”. The overprinting was done by the British Residency and Eight different settings are recognized.

BUSHIRE – Under British Occupation – 1st Issue – Without “Stop” after Occupation
13 values of the 14 issued values of the 1st issue exist without the “stop” after “Occupation”- i.e. all the values overprinted in strips of 10 where the variety is found on stamp number 9. The 5ch was overprinted in strips of 5 and as such does not exist with the variety.
BUSHIRE – Under British Occupation – 2nd Issue
A second set of stamps was issued on 11 September 1918 consisting of 15 values from 1 chahi to 3 toman. The quantities overprint were very small.
The 1921 “NINE PIES on 1a” Official King George V Surcharge
In 1921 the “NINE PIES on 1a” King George V Surcharge was issued as a service stamp. The stamp was issued in response to the new Imperial Inland postage rate of 9 pies which covered the rate for a letter weighing up to 1 tola.

The 1921 “NINE PIES on 1a” King George V Surcharge
On the 10th of June 1921 a NINE PIES surcharge done on the 1a 1911-1922 KGV value was issued. The stamp was issued in response to the new Imperial Inland postage rate of 9 pies which covered the rate for a letter weighing up to 1 tola. The last 9 pies stamp to be issued was part of the 1882-1890 Queen Victoria issue. The stamp is found on paper with inverted watermark.
