The 1964 Definitive Issue
Bahrain’s second definitive set was issued on the 22nd of February 1964 and was the last issue prior to postal independence. The set consist of a total of eleven values and three different designs: 5 – 15 – 20 – 30 – 40 - 50 and 75 N.P. all depict a portrait of the new Emir, Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The 1 and 2 Rupees values show Bahrain’s International Airport in Muharraq and the 5 and 10 Rupees values show the Harbor Mina Salman.

Kuwait participated in the global campaign to save the Nubian Monuments by issuing a set of three stamps highlighting the campaign in 1964. The values issued were 8 Fils, 20 Fils and 30 Fils.

The First Definitive Issue – 1964
On the occasion of the first anniversary of the opening of the post office in Abu Dhabi, the first stamps of Abu Dhabi were issued. The definitive set of 11 stamps had values ranging from 5 Naye Paise to 10 Rupees. The stamps bore the portrait of the then ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Shakhbut bin Sultan al-Nahyan along with a variety of designs 3 of which depict the gazelle from which the Emirate takes its name Abu Dhabi – Father of the Gazelle.
