Special Issue – The Progress of Abu Dhabi – 1968
The postal authority of Abu Dhabi issued three stamps in late 1968 and early 1969, which were a continuation of the celebration surrounding the accession of Sheikh Zayed. The stamps depict the activities of progress in the Emirate. The 5 Fils stamp was issued on the 17th of December while the 10 Fils and 35 Fils were issued on the 1st of January 1969. The Post Office Department’s circular stipulates the issue as a “Special Issue – Progress” to be released in November 1968. The release, however, was delayed and it was not possible to issue the stamps together.
