The Second Definitive Issue – Arabic 20 instead of 30 Fils Error - 1966
A major error was found in the sheet of 30 Fils overprint. The error is found in Row 7/8 and reads 20 Fils in Arabic instead of the intended 30 Fils. Donaldson writes that the error, which was caused by the typesetting, was discovered at the beginning of the printing run and was corrected. The incorrectly surcharged sheets, together with other spoiled sheets (all of which had to be accounted for), were dispatched to the G.P.O. in London for destruction. Five sheets were apparently overlooked and were included with the corrected supply sent to the Post Office in Abu Dhabi leaving only 5 stamps with this very rare error.
